Gobble, Gobble...

Corey, Bethany and I spent this past weekend in the Okanagan visiting a whole pack of family. Corey's Mom Jackie and her husband John were down from Quesnel, staying in Kelowna for the weekend, giving us a chance to see them too. Hooray for that! It was a wonderful weekend, very busy but wonderful none the less. We were able to see Corey's Mom and John, Corey's Dad and Sue, Uncle Scott and Aunt Chelsea, Uncle Wyatt and Uncle Travis, as well as most of Corey's extended family on Jackie's side. How great it is to catch up.

As wonderful as this weekend was however, I'm pooped! Traveling with a baby isn't easy. Back in the day we used to share a suitcase and maybe a little travel backpack and that would be more than enough for the weekend. We could have fit all we needed into the back of a stupid car (aka, "Smart Car", rolling jelly bean etc - hopefully none of ya'll are offended). Now however, we have 2 suitcases, 3 backpacks, a toy bag, a baby diaper bag, shoes, food etc etc.....aaaarrrggh! We need an SUV, a truck, a hummer, the Titanic to carry it all. But thanks to some careful arranging we squished and I do mean squished it all into my poor Cavalier. She was stuffed, full to the brim it seemed. Thank heavens I have such a wonderful husband who helped out and a daughter who's such a trooper. Bethany handled it all with ease and the few restless nights aside she did fabulous. Chipper and happy with all the new faces, ready to make friends.

We decided to stay in a hotel for 2 of the nights we were gone because haven't really had any time for a vacation since we got married. It was supposed to be a treat for us all that turned out to be more like a rotten trick. I don't feel like telling the whole tail tonight but the story is soon to come. It's a doozy, stay tuned. The one good thing - Bethany got to try out swimming for the first time and loved it! She's going to be a little fish like I was I'm sure.

To close 'er off tonight, here are a few shots of the weekend for ya'll. I'm going to have to bug my sweet sister-in-law Chelsea for some of her pictures from the big family dinner. I didn't quite get them all.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Great Grandpa Hobbs with Bethany

A little blurry, but Grandpa Bert and Bethany

Uncle Scott and Beth

Bethany starting to get her "groove" on

I'm not sure what she was trying to do, probably pull Uncle Scott's wedding ring off. She's got a real thing for shiny things.

Bethany and her cousin Sophia. They're about 3 months apart.

"You've got a little something on your chin. Here let me get it for you"

Daddy and his girl goin' for a swim.

"Look at me, I can put my face in. Cough, gag, gasp!"

"More pictures?!"

"Ohhh, alright!"

A different view on life.

The girls.
