C-eh-N-eh-D-eh Day!

Canada Day for us brought about a lovely day.  Oh, the weather was kinda cloudy, it feels more like spring than summer but it didn't rain, we had a great time and we live in a pretty awesome country!  On a whim Thursday morning, we all packed into the van and made the 3 hour trip up to Kamloops for the day.  My dear friend Cindy (the work is fantastic, check out her WEBSITE) was participating in a city wide Art Show in Kamloops and we wanted to surprise her!  It was a multipurpose trip - we wanted to see the art work, go on an adventure with the girls and most importantly I wanted to meet her new, sweet baby girl Elanie!

Lots of fun was had by all.  Cindy and Andres were surprised, as was the plan and Elanie is beautiful.  We also had a fantastic time looking at all the other exhibits and playing outside with our girls.  Bethany and Audrey even received a very special gift from their Daddy, that you'll see on their wrists in some of the photos.  As we drove out of Kamloops (Corey and I had been trying desperately to think of a way to keep to very tired kids from falling asleep at 6pm) the girls started to laugh and with very little effort from the adults in the vehicle, those two kids laughed all the way to Merritt. It's amazing what the sound of your children's laughter can do for your soul. The drive was safe and the day was good!

Now, on to another busy weekend!  To all my Canadian Readers - Happy Belated Canada Day and to those friends in the U.S of A - Happy Fourth of July!

It was soo good to see you on Thursday! I wish now that I had gotten a picture with you and your girls but I guess that will have to wait until our next visit. We're working up to longer drives with Elanie, and your house is on our list of stops. We drove to the wildlife park (20ish minutes) near Kamloops and our next practice is Salmon Arm (1 1/2 hours) Once we know how she does in the car, we'll be on our way to Chilliwack to see you guys! Thanks again for coming out to see us - it made the day really special!
